I totally don't feel like doing homework. So. I'M GOING TO BLOG!

My week's damn awesome. Okay maybe for just four days.

On Monday, I found out I'm in Group 3 for Business Computing. I was very sad because I thought I was in the Wednesday afternoon group (the other three groups are Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning and Friday morning). I thinking why I so suay to get the afternoon class (actually I assumed without looking at the timetable cos if got 4 groups, group 3 would most likely be for the Wednesday afternoon group). But actually I'm in Friday morning group! Cos the three morning sessions are the original ones. Okay I don't really know how to explain it but take it as I'm happy with what I wanted!!

Then on Tuesday night, Ruina pm-ed me saying that I'm exempted from Business Computing! I couldn't believe my eyes and went to check my student portal and OMG!!!!!

Wednesday on my way to Baby's place (I no longer have school on Wednesdays!), I received this text.



I WAS DAMN ULTIMATELY SHOCKED!!!!! Baby won a pair of tickets too! So we had like four tickets! Unfortunately my sister and dad who both participated didn't win. ): I took my sister along for the show and Baby asked Marcus along.

I saw the SMS to win the movie tickets thingy on 8days and I texted at the moment the contest opened! I'm so kiasu please. But it paid off! HAHAH. At first I thought didn't win cos the contest closed on Sunday and there was no news of us winning the tickets on Monday and Tuesday. I was quite sad actually and started checking all the slots for Cathay and I'm damn depressed cos almost all the good seats from every show were taken!! At that moment I thought I can only watch it next week. HOW CAN???? I'm an ultimate fan leh!

FIFTEENTH JULY TWO OH OH NINE!

I'm one of the first few (hundred) people in Singapore (or in the world) to watch it leh!!!!! HAPPY! But I'm damn depressed that there isn't like a Harry Potter goodie bag (I'm super Singaporean hahaha!) or free popcorn and drinks! ): The bloody queue at the snackbar was so long we decided not to buy anything. They wanted us to surrender our phones and cameras too. I think they're afraid we might film it down and sell or something. But we didn't surrender although we said we did. LOL. AND BOY WAS IT A SMART DECISION! Cos after the movie there was an ENDLESS QUEUE of people queuing to get back their gadgets! HA!

Then on Thursday after coming home from supper at Chompz (and we met Jasper with 3 girls!), checked my email and saw this AWESOME mail!



WAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH! TOP SALESPERSON!!!!! FREE HDD + EXTRA MONEY!!!!! HAAHAHAHAHA AM I AWESOME OR WHAT????? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

And now I'm back to doing my accounting homework. ):

There's loads of things to be happy about this week!!!!! I really wanna blog about it but PERHAPS later, cos I still have homework for accounting to be handed in tomorrow! How awesome.

Baby is damnnnnnnnnnnnnn funny today! No idea why. He's like a bit retarded today but so cute and funny can. HAHAHA.

While he was parking the car....

LOL!!!! WTH! I find it damn funny lah! LOL.

Then while at his place we started playing poker cards. He watched too much of the 'God of Gamblers' in The Ultimatum and he kept trying to act like he damn pro! HAHAH! The cards were EVERYWHERE in his room. He only stopped when I didn't want to help him to pick up the cards. HAHA. SO BODOH.

Baby's damn awesome cos I went for Teng Yeow's photomarathon event thing on Sunday, and Baby supposed to only find me after the event ends. But he surprised me when I was shooting at Botanics cos I casually told him over sms that I was there! Or rather he kept asking 'so where you shooting later?' HAHA.

We witnessed something really scary too. We were facing in the direction of this big tree (okay okay I know big trees are all over Botanics...) and suddenly there was this MEGA loud cracking sound. I thought it was thunder at first but actually it was this HUGE branch cracking!! AND THE WHOLE THING CAME TUMBLING DOWN. We were so shocked that we hurry ran to check out if anyone was injured. We saw this mum protecting her little daughter and her daughter was hysterical. The mum was kinda semi-consious and weak. Luckily it was the twigs and leaves part of the huge branch that hit her, if not I really cannot imagine what will happen to her. A kind Bangla carried the mum out while the little girl's dad carried and pacified her. I really would want to stay behind to see how the mum was but had to leave to submit my photos. ):

And Singapore really alot kaypoh people cos once they heard that something dropped, they all ran over at top speed to try and peek at what happened and not send for the park ranger or something! I was quite annoyed. LOL.

This is Baby who's carrying my bag for me cos my shoulder was swollen. He looks very weird carrying such a small little backpack! HAHAHA. And check out the piggie in his hands. He caught it for ONE BUCK. We were both so shocked! That machine was easy cos many people before us caught it but none caught it at ONE BUCK like he did! So clever hehehe :D

We had a nice dinner at this awesome ramen place at Central for our 8th month. :D





The ramen comes with pork cheeks which were so awesome to eat! They're so tender and definitely the best part of a pig I've ever eaten! HAHA.

But the fun I had last night with the crazyass people which had Wk, Hijack, Yi-ahwang-Jie, Chee Tiong, Chin Tiong, Shao Qun, Dewei, Jasper and Bird and 5 cars was damn awesome. These guys are so goddamn funny!

Gotta go work now. ZOMGZ. Kill me cos my body aches.

Wearing branded goods is like being a walking advertisement

LVs, Guccis, Burberrys, Chanels, Coachs, Ralph Laurens..... What else? My brandictionary is very limited, please pardon me. Took me 2 minutes to come up with that and got stuck by the time my brain reached RL.

The title of my entry is being said by an image consultant, as what my mum told me. Everyone gets excited about their branded wallets, branded bags, branded phone straps, but do you actually need these branded stuff? Each item can easily set you back by the hundreds. If you're rich cos you're born with a silver spoon (HAHAHA awk remember v&s?), or if you earn truckloads every month, then okay sure do continue to splurge. What I don't get is, people who do vacation jobs, modelling assignments, or save up their very terribly little allowance just to buy branded goods. So many people are in pursuit of their so-called desired branded bag which everyone else down the street also has. So you like spending so much and yet having the same thing like everyone else?

Maybe you can try out an experiment. Get out of the house, go to town, and get back home. While on the way there and back, try counting how many LVs you do see on the MRT or buses. You will be surprised by the numbers, really. The truly rich people would not be seen carrying their branded bags on trains and buses cos obviously they'll be in their posh Audi R8, or in a Maserati. Then again the rich don't even have to drive cos they have chauffers!

The thing about people wanting to get branded stuff, is to want to look 'expensive'. Don't tell me you love LV just cos you think it's pretty. Deep down in your heart you know you wanna look more expensive. But if your idea of expensive is to blow all your hard-earned-yet-little pay that you earned from 5 months of work on a 1k wallet, then that's really quite lame. Some people that I observed on the streets, as well as while working at RLC, is that they can be carrying a freaking Chanel 2.55, but they're fat, and they look so unkempt. So tell me, do they still look rich? Their authentic bags instantly looks like a fake or an inspired one.

Actually I don't wanna look rich also cos my family ain't rich later if I carry too much branded then I get kidnapped how??

I might once have said I like the LV denim wallet (which I blogged about sometime last year), but I also said I'll only get it if I earn 10k per month! But I guess by the time comes, I will think I'm better off without one cos really, I prefer my Baby Phat wallet over an LV one anytime. *winks*

Please don't think I'm saying this cos I cannot afford buying branded stuff. Fyi, I can well afford a few LVs or a Chanel 2.55 if I want to (cos I save, big time), but that's not how I'm gonna spend my money. I rather save up my money and buy my cheap $15 bags from Taiwan sprees cos you spend 1.5k on 1 bag, and I can buy another 100 Taiwan spree bags with the same amount. I have maybe, 25 bags which total up to less than 1k. :D I don't wanna be carrying 1 LV bag in exchange with my 25 bags!

This post is not to pin-point anyone in particular cos I do know friends who love branded stuffs. It's just my take on whether is really worth it for not so rich people to be splurging like crazy. A $100 discount off a $1000 bag seems alot, but it's only 10% off. They still earn about 60% from you! And they don't even have to spend money on advertising cos all you silly people do free advertising for them. They save and earn so much, but the holes in your pockets grow bigger and bigger cos you don't have money to get needle and thread to sew it back.

It seems like the economic crisis has not dampen the spirits of these pursuitors for brands. The branded goods I see on the streets seem to be increasing, in fact. You'll rather be buying branded goods than to be saving up the money for a rainy day, lest you lose your job. Clever people!!

I'm gonna end this post abruptly cos it's really late and I'm working again tomorrow, after 2 days of break which was ultra to-die-for. Goodnight! Remember to ponder over my thoughts! :P
